So close to home!!

These are the days, when the leaves would leave their branches and drift down elegantly, swaying in the breeze, landing softly on the ground below.

A school girl, in her school uniform, her bag on her back, returning from school; happy that yet again another day of school is over. She would choose the brownest and the biggest ones, gleeful when she heard the crisp sound of dry leaves.

The school girl, though now grown-up, is back again. In a new country, new surroundings, in her backyard, looking for the brownest and the driest of the mango leaves, gleeful to hear the familiar crisp sound. She is close to home, so close!

Of failed attempts and disappointments!!

Are the High Commissions and Consulates here to help people or to trouble them?

With hope I went to them, permission to visit their country. To enjoy the nature, to appreciate it's beauty. Just a few days of leisure and pleasure, of new place and people of that land.

But it was not to be. Terror unleashed in the world prevented it. No more simple pleasures of travelling. It's a time of rejections and dejections.

Would I had been a bird - which boundary could stop me?
Would I had been a river, would I stop flowing across borders?
Would I have been the wind, would I be stopped from blowing?

Alas! to be a human.
